We want to ensure you enjoy your visit to The Muckleburgh Military Museum is an enjoyable and informative experience, but above all we want to make sure you also have a safe experience whilst exploring our collection.

Safety & Security Information

At the Muckleburgh Military Collection, the safety and wellbeing of our visitors is our highest priority. We strive to provide an enjoyable and educational experience in a secure environment, and we ask all visitors to familiarise themselves with the following information.

General Safety

Risk assessments are carried out for all facilities, and potential hazards are clearly identified.

Visitors must not climb on vehicles or exhibits.

Construction materials and finishes are fire retardant, and all electrical equipment is regularly inspected.

Any activity materials provided have been examined and assessed as safe when used appropriately.

Fire Safety

Smoke and fire detectors are fitted throughout the building. In the event of fire, alarms will sound and evacuation announcements will be broadcast.

Fire extinguishers are located at strategic points, marked on the floor plan available at Reception.

Fire exits are clearly signposted, leading to safe external muster areas.

Teachers and accompanying adults remain responsible for the supervision and safety of children, including during evacuations.

First Aid & Assistance

Trained first aid staff and appropriate facilities are available on site.

Additional support or information can be obtained from Reception in the Shop.

Our Museum Team is present throughout the site to provide assistance. Please do not hesitate to approach them if needed.

Security

Internal and external CCTV is continuously monitored by our team, who remain in direct contact with staff on the ground.

For lost persons or items, please report immediately to Reception.

Visitors are advised not to leave personal belongings unattended. Any suspicious or abandoned items should be reported to a member of staff.
