Ahead of your visit, if you are coming to us by car we recommend using the Causeway one.network site to identify any closed roads or routes to avoid travel disruptions when planning your journey.

Kindly note the we will be closed from November 2nd and we will re-open again for Easter 2026.

  • The Museum is open daily from 10:00am to 5:00pm.

    We are also open over most UK Bank Holiday’s.

  • By Car: We are located on the north Norfolk coast, just off the A149. Look out for brown tourist signs for "Muckleburgh Collection." There is on-site parking.

    By Train: The nearest mainline station is Sheringham, with services from Norwich. From Sheringham, you can take a bus, taxi, or drive (about 3 miles).

    By Bus: Sanders Coaches operates services along the coast - check routes on their website for further information and times.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • On average, visitors spend 3-4 hours at The Museum.

    Some spend much longer - depending on if you are looking to experience a more relaxed or thorough visit.

    It is worth noting that our Cafe is located roughly half way through the Museum and is only available upon paid entry.

  • Whilst we have a number of vehicles and facilities outside, including our children’s play area - the majority of our collection is held inside and so is perfect for a rainy day adventure.

  • Yes. The Museum also has a limited number of wheelchairs available from the Shop which are loaned on a first come, first served basis for your visit if required. These cannot be reserved in advance and can be requested from the Shop.

  • Yes, the Museum offers free car parking to all visitors. There is a disabled parking area at the closest point to the Museum and motorbike and bicycle parking is available. Accessible during open hours only.

  • Photography for personal use is encouraged, however it is not permitted for commercial use.

    If you would like to discuss donating material to the Museum please contact us on email muckleburgh@aol.com or come by the Shop to speak to a member of the team.

    Please note that The Museum is fortunate to receive a large number of donation offers each year. Whilst all such offers are gratefully welcomed, unfortunately we are sometimes unable to accept every item and loans are only considered in exceptional circumstances.
