Children's Play & Picnic Site
The Children's Play Area which is currently situated adjacent to the Tank Demonstration Area will shortly be closed pending a
major redevelopment of the children’s play facilities.
A family picnic area is available and can be accessed through the Restaurant.
Alternatively you are also welcome to picnic on the grassed area in front of the museum.
Visitors are asked to ensure all litter is properly disposed of and to be careful of any military vehicles that may be in the area at the time...

Radio Group
Please check at Reception for opening times. The display is normally open on Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the season and
most Sundays during school holidays.
Toilets
Ladies,Gents and Disabled Toilets with Child Changing facilities are located next to the Shop and Restaurant
Disabled Facilities
All parts of the Museum, Tank Display and Picnic areas are accessible by wheelchairs but not mobility scooters. Wheelchairs
are available to borrow from Reception if required. Military Vehicle Rides and Tank Drives are not practicable.
Dogs
Dogs are welcome but not in the museum. Kennels and water are provided adjacent to the Entrance with padlocks and beds available
from the Shop subject to a refundable deposit. Dogs may be exercised on a lead beside the Car Park with care taken over moving vehicles.
Dogs should not be left in vehicles without water and ventilation.
Special Party Arrangements
We welcome group visits and special rates are available from Reception. Meeting Room facilities are available for 20-50 people.
Group visits and large parties for meals, should be booked in advance.
Shop and Restaurant
In the autumn of 2011 the redevelopment of the existing Restaurant facilities will take place, the aim being to have the new facilities
available to the customers from for the start of the 2012 season.
The new Restaurant will be realigned to allow diners a wide view of the coast line while enjoying the welcoming and
comfortable surroundings and the comprehensive menu, offering both light refreshments and main meals.
Museum Displays
A visit can take 2 to 3 hours or more if you take a Military Vehicle Ride or use the Restaurant. Please do not climb on any of the
equipment on display in the Museum.
Restaurant & Shop
Are only available after admission. All payments at Reception may be made by cash or cards (minimum of £10).
The Restaurant is open until early afternoon for lunch, tea, soft drinks and snacks.
The Shop stocks a wide range of toys and gifts with a military flavour, but there are many other items to appeal to all ages.
We regret we cannot take orders for items not on display or in stock. Menu and merchandise details can be seen on the website.
Military Vehicle Rides
Vehicle Rides are subject to serviceability and weather. Tickets must be bought in the Shop.
Rides are “bumpy but fun” and take you on a tour of the Camp site lasting about 15 minutes.
At peak season there may be a queue so plan on 30 minutes.
14 Passengers are taken at a time and all must use seat belts.
Rides are not suitable for very young children.
Tank Demonstrations
Please check at Reception for demonstration times.
A main battle tank is usually demonstrated at 2.00pm every day during the school holidays subject to serviceability and weather.
A public announcement is made before the demonstration to give you time to reach the display area outside the Restaurant.
Tank Drives
Book to drive a 13 ton Abbott SPG and receive a Certificate of Achievement.
Tank Drives are available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays during the season.
Allow at least an hour for your experience.
