The Harry Dawson Hall
This was named after a well known local resident of Weybourne, Mr Harry Dawson. He was a District Councillor and a Parish Councillor for over 40 years, also a Tank driver with the Royal Tank Regiment in World War II.
The tanks on display are all in full working order. There's the Chaffee M24, successfully used in the capture of Berlin and later in the Far East. There's also it's forebear, the Stuart M3A1, was nicknamed the "Honey Tank" because "it was so sweet to drive!" on display.
Aswell as the best known Russian Tank, the T34 with it's mounted 85mm Gun there is a Sherman "Grizzly". This is one of only 211 manufactured in Canada and is complete with all it's armament.
This Hall allows you to get up close to these old war horses too many to list here, got to be seen to be believed...
